Namaste, an ubiquitous part of Indian culture, a gesture to welcome, express honor, courtesy, and gratitude. It is not just a cultural aspect, but a science too. Every time we bring our palms together, there’s a crackle of energy. Even the world has realized the magic of it. So, it’s no more shaking hands but “Namaste.”
In the race of progress, we have lost our traditions, culture, and even the beauty of our mother earth. We need to spare a moment, and think what legacy our future generation would inherit- the masks, thirst for water, contaminated air, and dark sky.
Tough times have taught us that how we could heal the wounded planet. It’s been proved that time has come to revive our ancient culture, mend our lifestyle to have a better future.
Few days back I saw a beautiful rainbow, that sparkling arch invoked a hope of light. Yes, we can together be the agent of positive change.
A Halt! “Tribute to Mother Earth”
Halt! Slow down the pace and take a breath.
Think what is lost, what is left behind?
When did we last hear the chirping birds?
Do we still feel the fresh smothering breeze?
Drenched by rains, floating paper boats, climbing trees are faded memories,
The games played on streets do not exist,
Night sessions of granny’s stories are not liked any more,
An era of gadgets has begun.
Loud music, noisy machines echo everywhere,
Trembling earth, roaring skies, angry water is all we see,
Pale faces, mourning’s fear, blood –shed has smeared all,
Little saplings still struggling to survive,
All beauty is clouded behind the colorful masks.
Halt! Give a thought,
I that what we cherished for?
Running in the race of progress, what we ruined?
It’s never too late.
A rainbow of hope and faith,
Let’s be the change we want to see,
Yes, together we could restitute,
Halt! Give it a thought!
Be safe and healthy!
