May 1, 2018
INDIAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (ISAA) – LA PRINCESA

Mar 27, 2018, was the day of celebrations- Ramnavmi, Hanuman Jayanti, Mahavir Jayanti, and Swaminarayan Jayanti along with the conclusion of Chaitri Navratri. Swaminarayan Dhun, Hanuman Chalisa and “Aaj Mahavir Jayanti” reverberated through the hall as members and guests socialized among friends. The highlights of the main program were- Laughing yoga and patting exercises by Pannaben. The video clips shown were – April showers, What can Alcohol do to your liver, Dev Anand, Boy and the Judge-Good Story, World’s Best Chef, Save ware, Is there God, where- with proof? Nine swaroops of Durga. The celebrations concluded with aarti by the devotees. The sponsors of the day were Rajyaguru family- Shantibhai, Kiritbhai and Gitaben. Jitubhai welcomed back-Belur and Paru Chandramouly, Umesh Parikh. Guests-Mody family from Minnesota, was hosted by Katie and Pratapbhai. Ramanbhai had an exceptional demonstration of his invention on vegetable slicing/cutting device. ISAA thanked everyone who made remarkable contributions to –Helping Homeless Youth Connection Drive. He thanked Renukaben and Chandrikaben for their immense help in collecting the donations of items.

On April 03, 2018, our morning started with smooth flow of classical music by Hariprasad Chaurasia & Pandit Sharma. Socialization kept everyone occupied until it was time by the representatives from Green Acres Mortuary and Funeral home had the floor. Matt Fox put everyone at ease when he showed a short funny video clip. He explained various possible plans, especially with prepayment options. After the presentation the floor was open to questions and answers. Members certainly took an advantage of the situation with many appropriate questions.  For further information one can  go to DignityMemorial.com or contact Mark Fox, David Long or Kevin Veal at 480-945-2654. ISAA members thank the Green Acres Team for sponsoring the delicious luncheon. Jitubhai made a quick PowerPoint presentation on the donations by the ISAA members for Homeless Youth Connection program.  At the end Jeremy made a quick update on support for help to “Distracting Driving for Kids” and an appeal for support for Prudent Driver Contest -2018. The contest requires sponsorship donations so that he can purchase gift cards as the prizes. Depending upon the response from the sponsors, I can either purchase $5 or $10 cards for the students. Of course $10 would be more enticing… but $5 is not a poke in the eye either. He is starting with $60 hoping to double that amount, enough to purchase gift cards in $10  increments to last throughout May into June.

On Apr 10, 2018, as always, socializing with instrumental music go very well. Today was one of those days too. The program for the day started with a beautiful clip on Patting exercises. Everyone enjoyed it. The nice thing about this was the fact that serving of ice-cream by Umeshbhai did not interfere. This marked the occasion that Bhagavatiben is leaving Phoenix for over six months. We wish her a happy trip back home. Other interesting clips were- World’s Best Chef, Circus Adventures, Presentation by a Kenyan singer- “Laga Chundi me Daag”, Optimize Humanity by Oprah, Seniors have Fun, and Innovative Recycling Of Flowers by Indian Entrepreneurs. Today’s delicious luncheon was sponsored by the Devs-Suman and Santoshji.: As a sponsor Sumanji advised the members on a number of observations. JiItubhai presented the 1st Quarterly Financial Report prepared by Narayanbhai. Bhagavatiben Amin had a “happy birthday” celebration.

On Apr 17, 2018, the morning start was somewhat slow as the socializing and greetings continued. It was then time for our musical concert to take off. Harshaben started with a prayer bhajan and she did not stop as she kept on presenting one hit melody after another. She then entertained a number of “apni pasand” requests from the audience. Everyone listened and marveled at her rendering of the melodies with perfection.  We continued for almost an hour and half. Suman Dev even presented her with a flower bouquet. She appreciated the gesture. It was a lovely concert. Everyone had a delicious treat of ice-cream supplied by Manjuben. This was her way of thinking of Late Shri Babubhai. Many thanks to our sponsors- Pushpaben Dave and Pushpaben Unarker for such a lovely feast. We welcomed the guests of Pradip & Renuka- Harishbhai & Niruben from LA..

On April 24, 2018, as the welcoming melodies continued guest arrived. Greetings and socializing was pursued with total zest. Today’s session began with “patting” exercise followed by laughing therapy. Other video clips included were- God Created the Living Beings, Adventurous Mountain Trips- Char Dham Yatra, Akshardham Water Fountain, Balancing Act, Jindgi Ka Safar by Kishorda, Equator, Gifted Kid.
