INDIAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (ISAA) – LA PRINCESA

May 1, 2020
INDIAN SENIORS ASSOCIATION OF ARIZONA (ISAA) – LA PRINCESA

TO OUR RESPECTFUL COMMUNITY SENIORS

Hope and pray that “All’s Well” with you all.

Let us all keep cool, calm and collected!

It is heart-breaking that COVID-19, as of April 24th at 9:30AM, has already taken an unprecedented high toll of 5769 positive in Arizona with 249 death, over 894,309positives nationwide (over 2,74m globally) with 50,919 deaths nationwide (over193,000globally) and rising. Seniors, who are weak and have health issues, MUST NOT take any chances. Strict adherence to self-quarantine, is highly recommended! ISAA Working Committee therefore reevaluated the situation and decided to follow the Best Practices the best interest of our membership. ISAA will continue to remain CLOSED also during May 2020until further notice.

Good News is; there are signs of seeing the daylight fromthe dark days of COVID 19 hardship. This may bedue to good adherence to practicing lockdown andSocial-Distancing,giving hopes for better days ahead. We are proud of our ISAA Family members for their excellentunderstanding and cooperation during these most difficult times. Please continue to wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds andStay at home!Ensure adequate social-distance and wear Masks to protect others.

This is a great opportunity to catch-up with those missed out tasks to attend and complete! Also, spend times with Family, watching movies, playing indoor games, listen to good music, read books that you always wanted to, be co

ected with friends for fun and updates. Please listen and watch video clips to entertain and to keep you informed and help your family and friendsfor keeping them engaged and free from fearful living. This difficult time is having lot of lesson lea
ing potential, which will pass soon.Let us pray for living a new great humane life!

ISAA is grateful and proud of our Community younger generations, who have offered their services to the seniors in getting groceries, medicines etc. during locked down conditions. ISAA seniors collectively extend their sincerest condolences to Lataben Parikh who lost her father in Ahmedabad and also to Shureshaben who lost her husband Sevantibhai Shah recently. May Peace be upon both the divine souls! During the month of April 2020, ISAA members celebrated Ram-Navmi, Hanuman-Jayanti and Mahavir-Jayanti in addition to the World Health Day from home. The 2020 theme for World Health Day wasto support nurses and midwives, recognizing the vital role of nurses and other health workers. World Health also promotes healthy living. Serious commitments to healthy lifestyle and diet, are two most efficient ways to control the risk of several diseases.

ISAA PARTNERED WITH SEWA INTERNATIONAL -Protect Frontline COVID 19 Service Providers: Indian Seniors Association of Arizona (ISAA) partnered with Sewa Inte
ational -(Sewa), in general, and currently in making masks for healthcare and other frontline service providers during these difficult times caused by COVID 19 Pandemic. ISAA considers this is the most noble-humane cause of protecting the front-line service providers. ISAA is proud that our membership believes in ‘Giving’ at the time of emergingunfortunate disastrous situations, with contributions in whatever capacity possible, for making a difference.

On the night of theMarch 26th, ISAA participated in a virtual Workshop on MASK-MAKING, organized by Sewa Inte
ational (Sewa). Discussion was focused on the severe shortage of personal protection equipment (PPEs) and clothing by hospitals and healthcare services providers, as a priority. Also, the PPE needsfor benefit of other vital public service providers. Many Indian Origin young professionals, are volunteering to help in the situation, sacrificing their personal, professional, Commercial and Family time. ISAA spontaneously decided to work with Sewa without any hesitation whatsoever!

ISAA’s appeal to its membership received favorable response with contributions of significance in making a difference. It is worth noting that six(6) x sewing machines owned by ISAA members are now engaged heavily in making masks on a daily basis, producing large number of masks that are picked-up by Sewa volunteers to be delivered to where they are on greater demand. Furthermore, ISAA Members have also contributed the needed materials for making masks, as well as financial donations totaling $351, thus far. Additionally, one ISAA member is committed to support Sewa Inte
ational’s CHILD EDUCATION PROGRAMME sponsoring a child in India.

Once again, ISAA admires the services rendered by volunteers of Sewa Inte
ational who are devoting immense amount of their time, in working tirelessly 24/7. ISAA is grateful to the members of ISAA, who have generously come forward to support these efforts, and hoping to welcoming more to join hands in this most vital endeavor. No contribution is ever so small! For details, please contact Jitubhai at 623-581-8881 or e-mail: pateljc2002@yahoo.com
