Once again, Phoenix Desi Sports & Cultural Club (PDSCC) outdid itself by bringing an amazing event to the valley celebrating the traditional festival of Teeyan. Teeyan, the Punjabi name for th3e festival of Teej celebrated in Punjab and Haryana, is dedicated to the onset of the monsoon and focuses on daughters and sisters. Traditionally celebrated by swinging on decorated swings, dressing up, and singing and dancing to folk songs and beats while enjoying the monsoon, PDSCC did a great job organizing a similar environment here in Phoenix.
Hundreds of women dressed in their finest attended this free, ladies only event that was filled with beautiful shopping, he
a artists, and foot tapping performances from talented singers, creative skits, and Bollywood and traditional Punjabi dances. The performers were supported by the DJ of BBS Entertainment who ended the event by getting all attendees on their feet dancing to his tunes by the end of the fun-filled day. All attendees enjoyed mouth watering food prepared by volunteers and Board Members of PDSCC who volunteered all day to ensure the women had a wonderful time without having to lift a finger.
Asia Today had a wonderful time at the event and commends PDSCC for another spectacular event!
