New Year greetings:

IACRF Senior Group members conveys Best Wishes for a Happy and rewarding Valentine’s Day.

Senior Group Management:

Sr Members mutually voted and consented to amend membership and Guests policy during Senior Group Management meeting held on January 11th.  The membership fee is kept at $25 for a calendar year period. Attendance fee for all ages except less than 10 years is $5 per visit. There will be no membership fee for seniors over 90 years.  Lunch Sponsor will have privilege of inviting up to 10 guests free of charge.

IACRF Seniors Celebrates Christmas

Indo-American Foundation Senior Group celebrated Christmas on Saturday, the 23rd of December, at the Foundation Hall. There was exuberance of joy and excitement and very vibrant. The hall as well as the entrance was beautifully decorated with colorful lights. The tables were decorated with flower vases with sparkling lights. The program started with Diya dance choreographed by Sarla Dave and performed by the group that included Sarla Dave, Usha Gautam, Kaniza Bangalawala, Uma Aggarwal, Krishna Lahoti, Deepa Bagai, Kiran Dulai, Meena Bhavsar, Malti Devgania, Pu
ima Asarawala, Santosh Mathur and Anjana Shah. This excellent Diya dance was well received and applauded by the audience.

Lalitbhai Patel and Bhagubhai Patel appreciated and thanked Singer/Performer Mouly Bhatt, all volunteers, participants, guests, and support from IACRF to make this Christmas Celebration unique and highly successful.

Thursday Meetings Group Activities:

Highlights of our routine activities are Video lead exercise session, Table Te

is, Carom Chess and playing cards, and of course everyone’s favorite greetings and socializing. Badminton equipment has been procured and playing will be started soon. Every first Thursday of the month, interested members meet at the Ekta Mandir and have a lively Bhajan session where they take tu
s singing Bhajans. Every third Thursday of the month Seniors enjoy Antakshri session where Men Vs. Women singing is very spirited and response to each other group’s stanza is instantaneous.

During last month, Seniors enjoyed luncheon at Sweet Tomatoes restaurant. Tables were reserved and ambiance was wonderful. It was a buffet lunch and the food menus were fresh and nutritious. Seniors celebrated birthdays of Vijaya Baa Kshatriya. She is now 88 years younger with wonderful physique and health. Seniors also celebrated Dr. R Reddy’s Birthday. The cake cutting ceremony took place with the ‘Happy Birthday’ song sung by all. Mrs. Ramani Reddy and the daughter Dr. Tanmaya also shared their thoughts about him. Venkat Mukku sang Shri Ram Chandra stuti (prayer) Everyone sang the “Happy Birthday Song” and wished both of them well.

Monday Meetings:

Activities during Seniors’ Monday meetings are usually sport and playing cards. Of course, a delicious lunch is prepared and shared with enthusiasm. We encourage Community Seniors to take advantage of this opportunity to meet new friends and enjoy a fun gathering.

Lunch Sponsorship:

Last month’s lunch sponsors were Doris and Ramu Ramakesavan and, Pradyumna Bhai and Vijaya Baa Kshatriya, and Venkat and Prabha Mukku and Rao and Parvati Tummala. Seniors highly appreciate the lunch sponsors and all the volunteers for preparing the delicious lunch, setting up serving tables, and serving the lunches.

Sr. Group Management team would like to extend their heartful thanks to Usha Gautam for conducting weekly meeting and writing seniors’ activity report. I also extend my thanks to Pradyumna and Jon for taking beautiful photos, and of course all other volunteers who help in cooking lunches, setting up serving tables and serving delicious food.
