Atharva Dhole, son of Kiran and Sneha Dhole, is truly an inspiration to teenagers his age and has accomplished so much at such a young age that it brings us true pleasure to highlight his accomplishments and successes. An outstanding student, he has received awards in the Geography bee, Chess, Speech, and debate. He was the first student to go to State Geography bee from his school and is one of the 19 Mayor’s youth commission members. He excels in Chess, the game of the mind, and has received many competitions including a State Championship. An excellent writer, he received 2rd place in an essay competition wand was given an award by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Arizona. He has also won awards in speech and debate and model UN at state levels and, in the upcoming hear, he will be representing his school for the National Tournament of Speech and Debate at Harvard University.
A well-rounded and positive role-model to his peers, he volunteers at a lot of places including Tumbleweed Recreation Center and Penington Garden Retirement Home. For his 16th birthday party, he raised about $2,000 for Cancer Research by asking his guests to bring donations instead of gifts for himself and his sister, Aishvarya, and inspired his other friends to do the same. The brother-sister duo had done a similar fund raiser for their seventh birthday.
His most recent accomplishment, being recognized by the Chandler City Mayor and receiving a Community Leadership Award, was highlighted at the City of Chandler Meeting. In this meeting, the Mayor himself gave a speech impressed by his accomplishments. In addition, in November, he received an award from Linking Sports and Community Organization for his involvement in sports through his school. He was recognized as an outstanding Student athlete and only two people form the entire state were chosen for this award from hundreds of nominations they received. We are proud of this exceptional young man and honored by the opportunity to present pictures from both award ceremonies. Congratulations from the Asia Today Team – wishing you success in all your future endeavors and a bright future!
