ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICIANS OF PAKISTANI DESCENT OF NORTH AMERICA (APPNA) – Arizona Chapter held a Holiday Banquet to benefit the local free medical clinic in Phoenix, Arizona at the Airport Marriott. The hosting committee of the event included Dr. Azhar Jan, Dr. Faran Bashir, Dr. Nusrum Iqbal, Dr. Taqi Azam, Dr. Nadeem Kazi, Dr. Methab Siddiky, Dr. Rushda Mumtaz, Dr. Khaver Kirmani, Pervez Akhter, and Saba Farooqi. The gala began with openings remarks by Dr. Methab Siddiky and a welcome note by Dr. Azhar R. Jan, President of APPNA-AZ. Dr. Jan continued with highlighting the innovations of Pakistani Physicians and following him Dr. Nadeem Kazi and clinic volunteers spoke about the Health Care Clinic in Arizona. Keynote speaker of the evening, Dr. Zuhdi Jasser (Past President of the American Medical Association) spoke about the health care reform updates. Presentations were followed by a wonderful dinner by Copper Kettle and a musical extravaganza by Hanif Noormohamed. Congratulations to the organizing committee and APPNA-AZ for a spectacular event.
